Paleoceanography is the study of past climates and vegetation, both on land and in the ocean. Our speciality is the study of climate change in the Arctic Ocean and in the waters off Nova Scotia and British Columbia — particularly, how Global Warming has impacted the marine food chains and harmful algal blooms that cause shellfish poisoning and other potentially fatal sicknesses. We use numerical analysis of the climate change over the past ten thousand years to forecast future climate and ocean conditions. Examples of our published work in this area include:
