BrightCity
Painting is a conversation between the eyes and areas of color. This discussion should be lively and fun, sharp and charming, full of possibilities. My town, where I live and work is the topic of this show. My career as an artist, restaurant owner, and now property manager, meet here in an attempt to celebrate the city of Halifax with its ocean harbour, waterfront, downtown and glorious vantage point on the hill – looking out forever in all directions. BrightCity is a celebration Halifax. These paintings are my way of saying she is more beautiful than she often realizes. Kyle Jackson, October 2006
